According to an article I found on breitbart.com, more and more Japs are growing erbz. Perhaps its because the ganja costs 5,000yen per gram!
The number of cannabis-growing cases involving questioning, arrest or sending of papers to prosecutors has jumped about five times in the past decade — from 42 in 1997 to 192 in 2007, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said.
Last month, police arrested an employee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on suspicion of growing cannabis in his apartment in Shiga Prefecture.
According to the health ministry’s local bureau, the man bought cannabis seeds via the Internet.
The Cannabis Control Law bans possession or sale of the plant but does not cover Cannabis seeds, which are usually used as cooking spices or bird feed. The seeds do not have narcotic effects when ingested.
It doesn’t make much sense that the plant is illegal but the seeds aren’t. Reminds me of the fact that opium and heroin are illegal in Canada, but because the plant that provides those substances is beautiful, the seeds aren’t. I guess the fact that you’d need a plantation of poppies to produce any kind of quanity is a stumbling block, but given that you can smoke pretty well for a month or so off of what one mary jane plant produces…it’s is a wonder they haven’t made seeds illegal. That said, I am glad the article didn’t get into how it was because of evil foreigners that more and more Japs were planting green goodness….which of course it is. right? In Korea, they totally would have added a line in the article like, “the employee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism first smoked pot with Canadians while he was visiting vancouver.” or something like that.
The Marmot’s Hole documents how the Korean media would spin this kind of tale very well by translating the contents of this Korean language article.
In 2007, a 30-year-old graduate student at a school in Pohang, identified by his family name of Park, smuggled in 220g of pot from Thailand. He smoked the gear with foreign classmates of his and foreign English teachers before finally being arrested.
An official at the prosecutors’ office said, “Mr. Park was exposed to pot smoking as he hung out with foreign students studying at the same university, and finally reached the point of acquiring the pot himself.”
It’s easy to blame “others” eh? Yeah, it totally is.

Blaming others is what all governments do best.
